Last year we didn't really celebrate halloween because we just met and I just wanted to hang out with him! BUT this year we had such a great time (not counting both the times we dressed up we were completely rushed and a little stressed) but it all turned out fun! We dressed up on Wednesday for our wards trunk or treat. Nobody in our ward knew who we were until we started talking to them. All the kids just kept starring and us. It was pretty funny. Then we dressed up on saturday for my friend Jacque's party. We were late because there was a rebel football game that day, but we walked in and everybody just starred at us. It was funny...nobody went all out like we did. We decided this was our new tradition soo we already planned what we are doing for next year...I CAN'T WAIT!! :)

UNLV

Cheer has been a part of my life since i can remember...i started cheering when i was 5 years old and i don't think i will ever be finished! haha THis is my 6th year with UNLV cheer! my second year coaching and we are off to a great start! I really love all of the girls and have fun going to practice. We have such a talented team!

I don't think i will ever be able to give it up. The week of the game we had 2 girls get hurt sooo Savanna and I had to step in for the half time performance. I must admit i had fun and I still love it even though my body hurt for a week after practicing with them again!

One year ago today...

This is us a week after we met!

OCTOBER 17, 2010 Steven Tidwell and Jessica Worthen locked eyes!!! I remember driving home late that night and I was soooo giggly, i kept having to tell myself that i just needed to breath and that i was out of control. So this is how the story goes. There was a big mid singles event all weekend and I was convinced by a friend to attend. It was a three day event and somehow i ended up participating in an event everyday. I told my mom that this was the last singles event i was ever going to go to because they are so awkward and none of the guys are cool. Well my friend spotted steve on sunday (she thought he was cute) so i thought i could probably hook them up. oddly enough i ended up talking to his roommate that he had given a ride to church. I had no idea they were roommates. Steve then somehow ended up in our conversation. It was turning out perfectly in my mind...now i can set him up with my friend. Well anyway they liked what they saw and invited me and my friend over that night. I wasn't going to go but last minute i decided to...anyway when i got there my friend was on her phone the whole time so steve and I just started talking and playing pool...the rest is history. Things i remember about this day: -steve telling me I have the most beautiful eyes he has ever seen -playing in the rain like little kids -laughing soo hard my cheeks hurt -feeling completely confident and secure about myself -never wanting to leave -my heart beating faster than i can even count -knowing that i could fall in love fast if i wasn't already (if you know me it doesn't take long :) -not being able to fall asleep that night -excited to wake up in the morning to see what was going to happen

Well im a little late in getting this post up but what else is new. This is the man of my dreams! He is perfect (most days) :) and spoils me to the moon. I love him and had fun celebrating his birthday with him!

This is the present he was most excited about! He is so young at heart <3

This is what our week consists of...we loved every second of it!

The Girls

If you have talked to me recently you know that I am scared to death to have children! I don't know what it is but all of the sudden "real life" just became real on Feb 5...the day i got married when suddenly everything i ever dreamed about could be happening to me! (and is happening to me!)

Well last week all those butterflies in my stomach started disappearing!

Ryan and Brittany got to go on a nice vacation and they asked steve and I if we would watch the girls. Oh my gosh what a fun week! The girls were soo great and loved hanging out with me!! I felt like a mom and I did a pretty good job at it! SOOO now im not that scared but still not ready. Although being at Kaylee's and Kensi's beaconing call I really missed mine and steve's alone time! Breakfast, lunch, dinner snacks in between, bed time stories, swimming, park, play time and naps sure do take up a lot of time and energy, by the end of the day i was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Steve was also exhausted so we would just go to bed!! No shows, no movies, no late night adventures that I LOVE!!

But i had many priceless moments with the girls that I will always remember and love. And I know I will feel the same way about our kids when we have them!

the 4th

well steve quit his job to take a 4th of July vacation! haha but we had a blast :) (thats kinda a joke...he just got a new job but it was perfect timing bc we got to go to the beach with his family!) We stayed up really late thursday night watching 24 and then woke up at 630 friday morning to drive to California. Newport here we come...





Friday morning we started our journey to California! I tried to stay awake but it was really early so i slept most of the way to barstow. Steve is such a good sport. Soo Barstow is a must on our way to Cali. We have always stopped there to eat at Del Taco with my family and i felt right at home when steves family said they wanted to stop there too! This Del Taco is special because they overload your tacos, all of the ingredients barley fit into the tortilla. (thats why the boys LOVE it) Its pretty awesome! Eat, Restroom break and we are back on the road! A couple hours later we got to LA, we went shopping and hung out. That night we went to an Angels vs Dodgers game. We were cheering for the Angels but they got creamed. It was still fun!






Saturday we got up early and went to the beach! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and it was a perfect day. The boys dropped us off with all of our stuff and we set everything up while they went on a hunt for a parking spot. We were obviously the newbies bc we didn't come prepared with quarters to feed the meters so steve and i went on our little adventure. We have been watching Dual Survival like its our job and we are pretty obsessed. Cody (a guy on the show) hasn't worn shoes in forever and steve thinks thats awesome so he talked me into being like Cody Lundin and not wearing shoes. Since i thought we were only walking to the pier, mostly in the sand I agreed. Well once we got to the change machine we found that it was out of order! Typical :) so we walked around to different places to see if anybody would give us change. Well we ended up walking for 2 hours to a Bank of America to get enough quarters for our meter. Needless to say it was a fun adventure, my feet were very sensitive the rest of the day but it made my hunny happy! The rest of the day was full of body boarding, sun tanning, and playing in the sun. It was a perfect day!



Sunday was just as great. We relaxed on the beach with all of our friends and enjoyed playing with our nephews. We built a sand castle and steve dug a hug hole for them that they turned into a slide. They loved it. I must admit we have the cutest nephews. That night we all went to dinner together at the Outback and finished it off with Americas Cup. (a yogurt place in Cali that we love) That night ended in all of us laughing so hard that 3 of the boys threw up! it was hilarious!

Monday morning we all ate breakfast together and got back on the road. When we got home we went to lunch with Steve"s family and Nana and Papa. They were in town so we were excited to see them. Later that night we went to Worthen circle to see all of our family members light off fireworks. It was fun and relaxing.

A great 4th of July to spent with my sweetie. Since we've only known each other for 8 months we still have a lot of things to experience with each other! It is awesome!!!

Lake Trip

There is probably only one thing in my life that I will wake up at 5AM for...and that is the LAKE...I must admit that the lake is my second love. First of course being my husband, but when I went to the lake for the first time I tried knee boarding and I was in LOVE. Then I saw my cousin wake boarding and I knew i had to do it. Once my two feet hit those boots for the first time i have never looked back. It is the bomb!

Steve and I got to go to the lake for the first time together and it was fun to see each other in that environment. You know we are still learning a lot about each other since we have only known each other for seven months! haha im so grateful he is active and we like doing the same things. I know we are going to have such a fun life together! Steve did such a great job on the wakeboard (he didn't want me to show him up :) but he loves the tube and he was king of the tube! We had a blast!!!!!

Adventure #3

Well Steve and I decided when he got off of work on Saturday that we were going to drive up to california to see his grandma. We wanted to spend all day sunday with her and then go to six flags on Monday. Well unfortunately the trip didn't go quiet as planned. We stopped at the gas station to fill up and get some treats for the road. I stayed in the car because I was reading about the new radar detector we had just bought. I look up for a second and see Steve squatted down to the floor. Im like what is going on is something wrong with his contact...but then I saw this guy and girl run out of the store. I rushed out of our car to go see what happened. As I am running to the double glass doors I see Steve and a big pile of blood...he is gushing blood out of his face and saying will someone call 911. So i ran to our car, grabbed my phone and called 911. I started running after the 2 people to see where they were going but they already disappeared.

so the story goes...Steve walks in the gas station, gets us treats and gets in line. A guy and a girl walk in and he glances over at them and then looks back. These people go back and get beer and come get in line behind steve. The guy who is mexican says "hey you got a starring problem ese?? " as steve turns around to say uh no the guys smacks him with a 40 oz beer bottle right in the face. So that night we ended up in the ER getting stitched up. He got around 20 stitches and a broken nose. (but it could have been a lot worse) we are sooo thankful it wasn't super serious. Steve was such a trooper he was cracking jokes at the hospital. He asked the nurses if he was going to have a penis nose like Owen Wilson and was telling everyone to call him Harvey Dent! He was quite the character! And that is why i love him :)

Never the less we still left for california that night around 1:00 and arrived at 4:30am. Steve wasn't going to let anyone ruin our fun!! so everything else went as planned. We saw his grandma and went to six flags and had a blast!!!

The cops caught the guy on thursday so we have just been doing police work and waiting for our court date. It definitely made for an interesting weekend!

Girls Trip

Memorial Day weekend in San Clemente couldn't be better! After I was spoiled all week by my husband for my birthday I got to go out of town for the weekend with some girls! we had a blast laying out on the beach and eating at sunny's (our favorite restaurant for sooo many reasons!)

CRUISIN' to the Bahamas

My mom, Brittany, Lexie and I got to go on a cruise to the Bahamas! It was soo much fun. Lexie is in this group called hollywood kids academy and once a year their group goes and sings on a cruise ship so as a loving sister I decided I would go and support her! We had a lot of fun in between :)

soo we celebrate the 17th because that is the day that we met each other. and steve loves any excuse to celebrate! (i kinda love that about him:) soo we found this place down in china town that gives 30 min foot massages for 20 bucks! and they do a really good job so we decided that we were going to do this every month! they are open 24 hours which fits with our schedule...so about 1130pm we head down there but i tell steve that i have been craving pizza for days and he just got so excited soo we went to the cosmopolitian for this secret pizza place that steve LOVES it was very good and it might have to be added to our celebration! with full stomachs we headed to our relaxation spot and enjoyed our night!

Climbing like a champ!

soo steve and I decided that we wanted to be more active now that the summer was coming up! we have watched a lot of movies on our comfy love sac since weve been married and don't get me wrong i am loving the snuggle time but my tummy is gettin a little chubby! haha soo we finally got out into the sunshine. We met steves brother Ryan out at red rock and went climbing! we had such a fun time. I was worried i was going to be too out of shape but i actually did really good. I think this might become one of our fun hobbies! :)

Newport

well steve and I kinda got a little honeymoon! We decided we are going to have lots of them so we called this one our second honeymoon! Soo a friend of mine offered us their time share in Newport for the week and I got all excited! He took the weekend off and we headed down there and it was a perfect weekend. The weather was awesome we laid out on the beach and shopped and ate and hot tubbed all night. It was great...the timeshare was beautiful and we had a great view of the ocean and such a nice room. I love trips with my honey!! The best thing about my husband is that he lets my friends come along and party with us!!

My First Valentine

So to tell you the truth I have managed to go 23 years without ever having a valentine-i know its hard to believe :) but its true. I cannot tell a lie it sure was nice that my first valentine happened to be the man that I am married to! We both had to work all day but had a date planned for that night. He got home shortly after me and didn't come empty handed. He had a bouquet of roses in his hands, the same kind of roses he gave me the night he proposed. 2 boxes of chocolates, (the good kinds) and a card that was absolutely perfect. He always finds the most perfect cards. I love it because i can always look at them later and read what he writes!

anyway our date! We went to outback, it was absolutely perfect. We sat at the bar because it was an hour and a half wait so we took the first spot we got. It was kinda fun! After that we went to Yogartland, our favorite! Yogartland is special to us because the second night we hung out we spent 3 hours there getting to know one another it was great! We finished our date with grocery shopping! It couldn't have been better!

It sure is fun to have a Valentine!!

First Week long gone

holy cow!! i can't believe the first week is already over-it went by fast but slow. It is not weird at all waking up to my hunny every morning. I absolutely love it! We had such a wonderful week!

After the wedding we stayed at the Rumor hotel for 2 nights. It was such a beautiful room and steve had it all done up with rose petals all over and candles around the tub-it was perfect. We really enjoyed our time there. On sunday we went to the Jersey boys-it was soo great and then we had dinner with both of our families. It was a perfect idea and we all enjoyed our night together. The next morning we slept in which was needed and so nice. We checked out of the hotel and went to stake N shake. We got right to business that night setting up and organizing our little apartment. It has been fun building all of the things together and figuring out where to put all of our crap! I fixed him dinner and it was fun to be a wife!

we made a goal that we will always go on a date once a week. He doesn't have a set schedule so we have to figure it out every week. Last week worked out nice we got to go out on friday night, He took me to the Range steakhouse and it was absolutely delicious. After that we went to the movie with Jennifer Aniston and Billy Madison "Just Go For It" It was a perfect date. Steve is so sweet to me-always being so considerate of my feelings and making sure I am happy with everything. I sure do love him!

its soo fun to be a newlywed!

5 more days

Today my sweetheart gave me a take 5, 5 hour energy, and 5 gum...i finally recognized the pattern. We are both so excited that we only have five more days until we are able to be married! I really can't believe that i found my love. I keep telling my family ad friends that I feel like I am reading a book and I am the main character. Im excited to spend the rest of my life with steve and experience new fun and exciting things with him.

Wedding plans have gone perfect. Only a couple stressful moments. (1) We were on a time crunch with our invitations, since the engagement was fairly short and our photographer doesn't live in vegas we took pictures as soon as we could and got them to our invitations lady quickly but it was 2 weeks and a couple days before the wedding and i still didn't get them in the mail. so i had a mild freak out but we got them and it worked out! (2) steve was scheduled to work on the day we were taking our bridals and groomals and said he couldn't get off. I think i started to freak a little when he asked me if we could take them after the wedding. sweet sweet steve-he is soo funny sometimes. I know he will always make me laugh for the rest of my life. BUT he figured things out like he always does-he always makes sure I am happy! Now everything is done and we are just waitin' and waitin' so we are excited!

oh the apartment hunting. WOW that was stressful to me. Night after night of looking online and driving all around town was fun at first, but got old fast! I am soo indecisive and didn't know what i wanted but i knew i didn't want to pay a lot for something we were only going to be in for a couple of months. After about a week and a half of looking and looking we finally found one! Steve and I are both happy-he made the final decision based on my happiness. it is close to my home and work, just a little one bedroom one bath that is slowly coming together. I love it and can't wait to live in it!

and then we have the same old thing. WORK-steve has been doing great at Gucci and he really likes it, i have just been doing hair and helping out at UNLV and coaching my other team. BUSY BUSY-can't wait for our little four day vacation.

OHHH lastly-i had an awesome bridal shower last saturday. It was so fun to have all my friends there and i got plenty of goodies! can't wait to use them :)
